Ko Samui, Thailand

Our bus to Surat Thani is not the most comfortable one, with broken chairs and people lying on your knees, but we survived it. Still, it's charming with pink velvet everywhere. We even had the privilege to have a movie in the bus, of course, GI Joe in Thai, with no subtitles, is not what we were longing for, but well… We arrive in Koh Samui quite early in the morning (7 :30) and as we do not see any left luggage service, we decide to walk with our backpacks on and try to find a hostel. This was not a very good idea. It’s already very hot, the pier is quite far from the hotels area and it’s almost New Year so all hotels are fully booked. We finally give up and take a taxi to the Ibis. By chance, they still have a room available for us but of course we'll have to pay the price. We don’t really have a choice and we deseperatly need a shower so we book it. We directly start our visit of the island with the Fishermen’s village. Then, in the evening we go to the night market in Chaweng. The following day, we rent a booster and start a tour of the island. We go the the Big Buddha, to Hin Ta and Hin Yai (Rocks with the shape of male and female genitals) and to the rhum distillery (with some ti-punch that can challenge those of Amandine, not to say they are good). Then we meet Dieter and his two friends, Lorenz and Stijn, and we spend some time with them. We decide to celebrate New Year’s Eve together so we drink, we eat, we drink again and then we are drunk and sick (mainly Adeline). So once we arrive at Koh Phangan, Dieter and Stijn continue the party while we go back to Koh Samui and watch the New Year’s fireworks from the ferry. At 00 :30 we are in bed and Adeline swears she will never drink again. The next evening we go to a Muay Tai match, it’s amazing how hard these people kick, they really are impressive. Then we visit some waterfalls, do some Jet Ski (Adeline lose her OAKLEY sunglasses), get a Thai Massage and we say goodbye to Koh Samui with a nice restaurant in company of Dieter.
