Once we arrive in Krabi, we do the same mistake as in Koh Samui, we start walking with our backpacks looking for a place to sleep, but again the pier is a few kilometers away from the city centre so we soon give up and take a pick-up to a hostel mentioned in the Lonely Planet. By chance, they still have a room available. Once we booked the room, we go for a small walk in the neighbourhood and directly fall in love with Krabi. It’s really beautiful, the sea, the big rocks,… And what we like the most is that there are a lot of things to do and see but not as many tourists as on the islands just in front. We rent a booster and go to a beach where we see no tourist at all, only locals bathing with all clothes on. Then we visit the Tiger Cave Temple, a wonderful temple built in the cliffs and caves. We climb the 1237 steep steps that lead us to the top of a cliff from where we have a view that we usually only see in movies. We go down just in time because it starts pouring. At first we wanted to wait a little for the rain to calm down but it didn’t so we took the booster and went back to the hostel. When we arrived we were as wet as if we had been swimming with all clothes on. The next day, we had booked a tour to snorkel and do some sea kayak. It was really nice, we even saw some people living in the caves. The next day we went with another tour to Koh Phi Phi island, it’s good we didn’t stay there because it’s really too touristic, mainly the lagoon where they shot the movie ‘’The Beach’’. When we came back to Krabi, we went to the night market where we ate delicious pancakes. The next morning we had a Thai cuisine course. It was very interesting and delicious but we had made a huge mistake : we ate breakfast just before the course so we weren’t so hungry and we had to fight to be able to eat everything we cooked. But it was so good, we managed to finish our plates.

Very very nice temple. Some parts of it are incrusted in the rocks. You can also climb the 1237 steps to reach the top temple if you dare! Or visit the part hidden in the tropical jungle ; D
