On our way to Melbourne, we try to spot some kangaroos and koalas but we do not see any. Once we arrive in the city we try to find a ‘’cheap’’accomodation but everything is so expensive that we decide to spend the night in the car, no far from public toilets just in case. Of course, they did close the toilets at night but at least we saved one night accomodation. In the morning, we do the walking tour of the Lonely Planet and then we extend it by walking along the Yarra River, into the impressive Botanic Gardens and to the Melbourne Park where Kim is currently playing for the Open Australia. Then we go back to Federation Square and continue our trip passing by the Great Ocean road. We make a first stop at Lornes waterfalls, which are far from being as scenic as the ones we saw on our way to Batemans Bay. The next stop is at Anglesea where we can admire some kangaroos playing on the golf court. We also spot some koalas in the trees just after the Kenett River.

Just in the middle of the city, this building is nice. There was a giant TV to see tennis Live!

This walk takes us from the parliament, walk trough narrow roads, filled with cozy restaurants, to botanic gardens and up to Melbourne Park. A must do.

Impressive city! Visiting it the same day Kim Clijster & Justine Henin played was an odd coincidence!
