Road from Walvis Bay to Sesriem wasn't easy.

We first headed to Solitaire, a small town, well, actually it's not even a town, it's two or three buildings lost in the middle of nowhere!! 236km of gravel road to reach it!! There's a gas Station, a famous Bakery and a small lodge there.

Adeline couldn't stop saying ''WAOW, what a beautiful landscape'' every ten minutes!! It's true that landscape was incredible!!

Every 100km it looks totally different, different colors, different atmosphere.... We also had like Visual distortions... It looked like we'd never reach the mountains we were staring in front of us!!!

When we finally arrived at Sesriem, we were shocked by the price of this National Park. But we were there and we had to do it.

We visited the dunes under 39Cº!!! After walking for about 1km we gave up and a German couple passing by gave us a ride in their 4x4.

We took some pictures in Doodvlei and then returned to the campsite.

Ask for the reputed apple pie. It's huge so make sure you didn't eat too much.

Last night we could witness the most beautiful sky we've ever seen!! We could clearly see all the stars in the sky! I thought nothing could surpass the sky we saw last summer in Canada. But Namibia is the winner.

Adeline and I woke up around 4h00 am, due to a windstorm that almost crushed the tent on us! A bit of our fault as we didn't fix all of the ropes in the ground...but we learned from our mistake.

Anyway, we had planned to wake up around 4h30 because we wanted to be the firsts on top of Dune 45 before the sunrise. And that's how it happened.

Two or three 4x4 were at the gate before us, but we had 45km to over take them so we had several minutes in advance to climb all the way to the top of it. Wasn't easy at all, really you should be quite fit to do that!!

Well in the end it's true that we saw a very nice landscape from up there. Looks like you're on another planet.

When the sun showed up, and lots of other tourists arrived, we decided to go... it was already 30Cº so I coudn't help but to drink a beer at 7h30 am! ; D to be honest it was more like 2 Windhoek lagers!

Don't camp there even if people recommend it to you. You'd better camp outside the park. We paid the equivalent of 60 EUR for camping with our own tent! The only advantage of this camp is that it is inside the park so you can see the dunes and the doodvlei at sunrise and/or sunset. But is it really worth paying so much for that? we think it is not. If you camp outside Sesriem you might lose 30 min but you will certainly save a significant amount euros

Very nice but you'd better get in shape beforehand. Not easy to walk in the warm sandy desert.
Camel bag and rehydration pills very recommended
