I set out early on the final trail called The Grouse Creek Trail. I got some great early light and took advantage of the low angle to get some good backlit shots. The riders started a little later than I did so I got some great shots of them riding up some switchbacks.
The wildflowers, which were great on the other trails, were spectacular on this one. At one point, I left a wooded section while looking down fiddling with my camera. Out of the corner of my eye I noticed some color. When I looked up I found myself in the middle of a huge flower covered hillside meadow. The sight literally took my breath away. In fact I even back-tracked into the wooded section and re-enterd the meadow just to try and recreate the effect! (without looking down at my camera).
At the top of the trail was a plateau with a series of beautiful lakes to add a great finale to the hike.
