Trail # 41 - The Meadows,

Even though it was a bit late in the day by the time we got everything set up, we started out on a trail nicknamed "The Meadows". I pretty rapidly lost track of the riders as I paused to take pictures.
As you can see at a certain point in the pictures the area suffered a pretty major fire a few years back. It has a certain beauty to it, and of course fires are a natural part of just about any forest ecosystem, but I still couldn't help wondering how beautiful it would have been when all the now dead, bare trees were covered with evergreen needles. Even so, Montana had really late rains this year (right up to the day before our trip!) so the wildflowers were in full bloom, and, as you'll see it just got better and better!
