Phew... it's already been quite a trip! DFW to HOU to MCO to FLL to MIA! I guess that's the price you pay for a cheap fare on Southwest.
So far the trip has gone off without a hitch! All my flights were smooth and now I'm just sitting in the Miami International Airport killing time until my flight for Lima leaves at 7:30am tomorrow.
So far the most interesting part of this trip was my shuttle ride from the Ft. Lauderdale airport to the Miami airport. Initially, it was myself, a lady from Nashville, a guy from Nashville (no acquaintance of the lady), two local Cubans (a mother and daughter) and another young lady who didn't talk much. Before we left FLL we made another stop and picked up an older couple who happened to be from Brooklyn... and they made it very clear in stereotypical New York style :-)
Seriously, this old guy was an absolute crackup!
Everyone was quite surprised that I was traveling to Peru on my own. The old guy from Brooklyn said everyone else should come with me and if they took his credit card he'd cover it :-P
In any event, I grabbed some dinner and now will be in a search for at least a semi-comfortable spot to hunker down for the night, ideally near a working power outlet. All the ones I've plugged into so far have no juice!
Next stop, LIMA via Bogotá :-)
