We pulled into our host site for the night but beat the support van back so we went to a park to play that had an amazing statue and wild locals.

Meet Kelsey. She is one of the route leaders from Detroit Michigan which has been devastated by the affordable housing crisis. Kelsey is committing her life to help by going into real estate law focusing on affordable housing. She went to Thailand twice, once to teach about human rights. Very cool.
Meet Mackenzie. This girl has more cycling skills than by a long shot. On the ride today she was in the lead pack too and kicked my butt. She was the only girl cruising with 5 guys and she was awesome. Mac sttack went to Boston College and was on the swim team. We went swimming in a lake today and she showed off her aqua skills. Mucho athletic talent and a great attitude.

I decided I would go out hard today with the lead pack since today's ride was only 40 miles. I was cruisin. The ride was hilly but quick because we were averaging about 17mph with coasting speeds averaging 26. We got into town and explored a park while interacting with some odd locals. I think I ate two pounds of pasta with delicious homemade spicy marinara by the church group who opened their doors to us. On top of that I had garden salad fruit salad 40,000 meatballs a whole loaf of garlic bread four Poland springs waters and 5 oatmeal raisin cookies. Cycling all day in the heat really stirs up and appetite. Some of the group napped but I chose to figure out the tv and VCR at the church and watch Finding Nemo. It was our route leader Kelsey's birthday last night so while most people slept early some went out bowling and to a local bar. We missed our 11 curfew by 30 min but it was ok because we were with a leader.
