What is it with all these hills? Today was a nightmare of a day with almost constant climbing through the Massachusetts landscape. I was moving fast but my legs were hurting real bad. We rode 60 miles today and around every corner was another ascent. I've never sworn so much in my life. One hill was a solid 200 meters at 16% grade...unbearable pain. My quads are like jello and my butt hurts horribly but I'm still having an awesome time. Misearble experiences make good stories because they are funny to other people. With about 15 miles
left in the ride I got stung by a bee that gor in my jersey somehow in my right oblique. I stopped so fast therew my bike to the ground ripped off my camelback and tore off my jersey to remove the bee. Then I zipped back up and we were moving within seconds. Ten miles later I forgot about the little sting when I crashed into a bridge trying to eye a path to the beach below. I ripped my jersey sliced my arm just missed tearing my nipple off and messed up my wheel alignment and breaks. Well I never made it to the swimming area but I did make it to the church host site where I removed
My jersey to treat my wounds and learned how to play hackysack from a random man. This church site has so much historical value because it's the one Jonathon edwards was a part off. I stood at the pulpit where he stood and read a bible passage which oddly gave me the chills. Dinner was a bingefest at some girls house who didnthis route last year. The food she made was healthy and delicious; I ate all vegetarian and consumed about 5,000 calories just on dinner ... Seriously, that's not even a joke. My favorite part about trips is interacting with locals and i did so much of that everywhere I went today. My legs hated me so chatting with people gave me a nice distraction fro
The pure agony of burnings quads. Seriously new england, enough with the hills already.
