Looks like a fun trip! I can't wait to be retired and have fun trips like this. Thanks for keeping Patsy and I posted. Patsy says she saw Cindy's picture at the post office and plans on collecting a big reward. Then we can afford to take such a cool vacation.

I like the moose. Really cute! LOL!!

Thanks for all the comments! It is great that someone is actually taking the time to look at this. :). It should get more interesting as time goes on! So far, no bears. Only a reported sighting on the road! Thanks to our homegroup family for your prayers!

Okay, the picture of you and Don rafting on the river--haha!!! I'm sure we have one of the kids when they were little from there. (the oldest 3) When we lived up in Seattle we went camping up there. Or at least drove through.

Okay, and then there was Prince George memories. No, we never went there but a lady from there did her Montessori training with me in Seattle. She had her 3 boys camped out on the school property. They came to stay with us for the rest of the summer. Quite interesting family. The youngest would crawl around the theater floor picking up dropped candy and gum off the bottom of the chairs. ha. And then there was the one that set fire to the restroom at the school. With Caleb there with him. Just thought it would be fun to share those memories. Well, it was fun for me to remember them, haven't thought of that in some years. lol

Two and a half months! I had no idea! Wow! Praying for you both. Enjoyed reading your travelogue. Good job!

Sounds like it has been a pretty awesome trip!! I would love to do something like it someday!! Hope you both have fun.....and travel safe!!

Looks like fun! On finding WiFi hotspots... there's an app for that. Next time you are are the internet, pull up the app store on your iPad and do a search for JiWire. They have a free WiFi Finder app and you have the option to downloading the database to your iPad so you don't have to be on the internet to find a nearby WiFi hotspot. For instance, in Prince Rupert there is a free WiFi at the Highliner Hotel on 1st Ave. Here are some results from the app for each town you've visited: 1. Grants Pass, or: 12 free hotspots 2. Seattle, WA:23 free hotspots 3. Hope, BC: 1 free hotspot (blue moose) 4. Ten Mile Lake, BC: 0 free hotspots 5. Smithers, BC: 3 free hotspot 6. Prince Rupert, BC: 3 free hotspot You can also add any hotspots you find that the app does not, to help others find WiFi hotspots. There are other WiFi finder apps that might work for you too, but this one is free. There's also an app for finding parking spots, but they don't have coverage a long your route. ;-)

You were able to get a lot of cool pics of the eagles Mom. I hope you have really great weather throughout the rest of your trop

Love the pictures of the bald eagles. Amazing birds.

I'm really enjoying your trip right along with you Cindy. Glad you are having such a great time. Also, glad you're able to post once in a while to keep us informed. And you were so informed about all those plants. Have you been studying? lol

Hey Rick, Got the app for the JiWire...I used it for the first time in Wrangell...they did not have the coffee spot we found, so I added it to the offline info...I hope it worked. I used it again when we got here in Sitka...it is great!! Thanks for the heads up!!

Hey Sheri, I am so happy that you are enjoying the journal. i am having fun doing it. I did not know all the plants off the top of my head, but we carry around a pamphlet of Alaska flowers that is very helpful. We have enjoyed all the flowers a lot!It has rained almost every day that we have been doing the inland passage...we are now in Sitka and it has been raining good all day...none of the light drizzle stuff we got in Ketchikan, Wrangell and Petersburg. it is also colder here. We played tourist most of today, and are now computin' in the warmth of the local library! Good Internet connection. All those hikes out there and it is miserable outside...we are a couple of Californians that won't be moving to this part of AK!! Thanks again for coming along with us through the journal!!!

Thanks to all who have written comments!! Keep us in your prayers. We were on a trail that was in extremely pathetic shape...an accident waiting to happen. We made it to the top of the mountain just as the fog rolled up and obscured the view of Sitka! Then we had to go down...arg! We made it safe...hiking in rainforests is interesting.

Happy Birthday Don! What a birthday to remember. Okay, I'm wondering about the jet boat tour. I'm thinking in Alaska, with so much wildlife to see you'd go slower. I'm sure you did slow down once in awhile. Too bad the moose were on the run.

Okay Cindy, you had me rolling on the floor talking about your shower experience. Thanks for the laugh. Too bad about the bad weather. Is this usual for them this time of year? But glad you're still getting to do a lot of stuff. Be careful on those slippery trails. Hi Don!

Hey Cindy, I'm really enjoying your trip!!! Seeing your picture of the glacier brings back memories-I was there nearly 40 years ago and fell in love with Alaska. Thanks for all the great updates-have a wonderful time!

We are eating at a little café/bakery, The Village Bakery, in Haines Junction. We drove along the Haines Hwy, now we are on the Alaskan Hwy. The scenery would be beautiful if you could see it...more rain today. So I am picking up a postcard of the mountains!! This is a great find...the food is fresh, healthy, and very good!! And a strong wi-fi connection...free!!! Hard to beat!!

Hey Sheri, Alaska or PEI? That's a tough one!!! Gotta do both!! :)

Loving these pictures of Juneau. Is the glacier just dirty? (I'm not trying to sound dumb, just curious. lol) Was that a humpback whale? The pictures are just beautiful. I'm loving it.

We had a wonderful day of fellowship yesterday here in Anchorage with Annelyse and Edward. We are leaving to go to the Kenai Penninsula...under cloud cover and showers. This is a gorgeous area to see, but unless the clouds depart, we probably won't get to see much. I now have empathy for those poor souls who go to Morro Bay in the summer with all the fog!

Exciting seeing the moose. Glad you got to see Annelyse. The fish traps are quite interesting. Have you seen any bears yet?

Hi Sheri, we saw about 5 moose last night...even a mommy with 2 little ones! Sooo cool!!!! I will get those pics posted soon. :). We have seen No, absolutely No bears!!! We thought we would be doing a lot of hikes here on the Kenai, but it isn't working out that way. People keep telling us that they are around...I would like to see one from the car...that would be ok. :) Bear Free Trail!!!!

We just enjoyed a beautiful sunset (10:30) in Homer. It had been clouds all day with a little rain, but this evening the clouds opened up and we got to be blessed by watching this beautiful sunset!!

The sunset shots were beautiful. And of course I loved seeing the baby moose--even the mama. I would love to go there.

First bear sighting this morning on our way to Seward. He was crossing the dirt road in front of us, making his way to the other side where someone had thrown out some fish parts...mmmm breakfast! I stayed in the car to take my pics!

Hey Mom, I realy like the pics of the moose, very neat!!

The clouds have lifted a little after 3 days of rain. I got a few pictures and we are going to go towards Whittier. We are really tired of all the rain...got to get out of here! Will be visiting our friend Debbie in Wasilla tomorrow or the next day.

My last comment wouldn't post, let's see. What did I say? Amazing that you saw a bear! Glad you were in the car. Was it a brown bear? And did the rangers tag it because it had caused some problem? Love the moose pics. And what is attacking Don, a giant mosquito??? lol

oh yeah, and I loved the picture of you dressed up.

Cool bear photos. I've been here 4 years and have never seen a bear up that close. In fact, I don't even recall the last time I saw one.

That bird looks like some type of penguin from the front, though its chest isn't white. A rockhopper penguin and the fjordland penguin seem to have those white feathers. So I'm not sure. The fireweed is beautiful, though you'd think it would be red. Beautiful pictures though.

poor dog--lol
