Before getting on the road, we had to check out the local coffee shop. The Blue Moose! Definitely a winner!!!!! We love the local coffee places... This one comes highly recommended if you are ever in Hope, BC.
We drove through lots of mountains in the morning and it was raining. The highway follows the Fraser River winding through the mountains. There was a lot of road construction going on and we had delays happening all morning.
I noticed that a good part of the forests we drove through this morning are dead or dying from a huge infestation of a bark beetle. It was sad to look at.
About mid-day the rain had stopped and we were driving through pretty valleys. Lots of green pastures, streams, little lakes, cattle grazing, and yellow flowers along the road. We have so far seen 3 bald eagles!
We are camped at Ten Mile Lake. We have a nice campsite that overlooks the lake.
We met Linda and John, camped next to us. They have been to Alaska before, so we asked them a lot of questions. They shared a lot of great info with us. They are from Dana Point!
