A travel story by David DiBardino

Description

It was a long 3.5 years of medical school. A very long 3.5 years. A few buddies and I knew that we really had a chance to make life count in the second half of our 4th year. To do something memorable, to do something medical and everything in between.

The first part of my trip was the infamous Amsterdam. We had to connect there anyway to fly to Kilimanjaro so.......why not make it 5 days? It was time to re-visit Europe in a less PG fashion.

Next we moved on to conquer Kilimanjaro. The tallest peak in Africa and first mountain I would ever climb. There was no point in going to East Africa WITHOUT doing something involving the rugged outdoors. Why not make it the tallest mountain in the continent?

After a brief 5 day safari it was time to bus through Kenya into Uganda to complete an elective medical school rotation. This elective would change my perspective in life forever and possibly my career goals.
