After camping out we got this sequence of sunrise photos in the serengeti. You barely ever see a cloud there and the grassy plains make a perfect background.

That sunrise in the Serengeti with a better camera.
The Serengeti has these amazing rock formations peppered throughout the grassy plains. These are good places to look for animals.
The poaching by local tribes is a problem around the Serengeti. The Maasai to the east do not hunt wild game but the Sukuma to the west and Kuria to the north continue to illegally poach.

The Serengeti looks exactly (I really mean exactly) like the gateway computer background - the bright green grasslands with the blue sky and a couple clouds.
It's definitely worth camping out here because it gives you 2 full days in the park. However, there are a ton of tsetse flies and bugs at the camp site. Also, hyenas come to the site at night to eat the garbage!! Stay in your tent....
