Right on the edge of the Pigalle area, or as it is better known, the red light district. It was actually a good spot. The hotel itself? Pretty old, but we had our own room and sink.

Afer a 10 hour journey, including a ferry crossing over the English Channel. We arrived in Paris. The area looked pretty dodgey at dusk and our guide just told us to watch out for pickpockets and stuff. We decided safety in numbers, so we got a group together and went for a pint. We then bought some baguttes, cheese and wine and wallked up to the Basilique Du-Sacre Coeur. This famous church has great views over the city and it was a great way to spend a summer evening. Next we went to an Irish pub, which was a bit bizarre. We were in the middle of France, in an Irish bar, with South Africans, Americans, a Kiwi and an Aussie, listening to popular English songs. Not exactly the quintessential French experience, but a good one.
