Made it to this busy beach town today and it is an interesting and lively beach mecca for many Italians. I can honestly say I haven't seen any other nationalities, but that is just fine. It reminds me of a mix of Seaside, Florida and some beach town on the Northeast coast of the U.S.....well, kind of. If you add fifty thousand bikes, high heeled Italian women, sprinkle in a few high end shops like Prada and Gucci, and then you have an idea of this town.
Took a group bike tour today as this seems to be the norm when it comes to the mode of transportation in this Italian city. Don't worry about getting run over by cars while here, but watch out and listen to the ringing of bells from the handle bars of the bikes as the buzz by at an alarming rate all day and night!
I must confess, this shot did not come from the little Italian beach town I am at in Northern Italy, but the same photo shot presented itself last night because a fire on the local mountain adjacent to the beach was on fire and because of the rugged terrain, the only way they could put it out was with the use of these helicopters and airplane dipping into the ocean and gathering water to fly back and dump on the burning fire. The most impressive was the large twin engine prop plane that would land on the water for about 10 seconds, all the while filling up with water and immediately going airborne again and going about 5km back to the fire. This went on for all of 5 hours.

They store everything they need for the week in these little houses, then shower up and get partially ready for the night. The girls only wear heels, so it's funny to see them dressed up like this all day. No doubt the Italian women have it going on, but I think an Italian girl who is an "8", definitely goes to a "9" just by their demeanor and their style.

The beaches here in Florida could take some lessons from them!
