Took a few days off from the road to meet up with some old family friends for some home cooked meals and a little schnapps at the end of each meal. Not a frequented spot on any tour guide, St. Wendell is out of the Bavaria and located in Saarland area of Germany, just east of Luxembourg and France. The picture below is of the St. Wendelin Dome in the city center and it dates back to 400 years ago.
Funny pic of my "roasting" a chicken on the BBQ. We actually did have a BBQ the night before this photo was taken. This grill/BBQ contraption is known as a "schwenker" in the area of Saarland, Germany. It's kind of a right of passage to have one of these in your back yard, about the same as it is to have a Weber grill or Big Green Egg in the U.S.

Doug - you know I love the beard, but I am concerned for your forehead. Sunscreen, my friend!
