Oktoberfest takes on all ages as you can see in the photo of the little boy in his lederhosen being held up by his straps by his father. The weather was perfect for 10 days in a row, which makes the outside Beer Gardens that much better for the occasion.
Even the best of troopers can't always take what Oktoberfest can dish out. The color was perfect for this shot outside of a tent on a late Sunday afternoon. The girl in the photo ended up fine, FYI.
Nothing like getting a traditional "Prost" from a 4 year old!
What some would like to think is a permanent structure, here is one of the larger temporary tents that will begin to get taken down shortly after the 16 day festival...but not before 6 million liters of beer get consumed!
Me and the guys taking it all in on the second floor of the gorgeous "Hacker Tent".
The large ferris wheel in the background that has been a staple of the Wies'n for at least 100 years of the 200 year history.
These little ginger bread-like hearts are given to the girl who you want to be your "Wies'n Girl" for Oktoberfest. While it maybe just for the night, it's the thought that counts!!
The stroll within the fairgrounds of the Oktoberfest. Notice the lederhosen of the guys and the dirndle outfits of the girls.
The main entrance of Oktoberfest
The opening parade of Oktoberfest on September 17, 2011. The horses will march in to the grounds and the mayor (Burgermeister) will tap the ceremonial keg!
We sure do look like a couple of school kids doing something wrong....but it sure was fun. As my buddy Wes said, he sure was sad to leave, but his American Express was ready to get back home!
Only the strong survive Oktoberfest!
The ceremonial umbrellas to keep the 1,000 or so people from getting champagne soaked!
What about that guy? Damn American friends of mind, can't take 'em anywhere!! Haha
Rule #1....don't let the German women out drink you!
One happy soon-to-be married man!
Eurotrash in Lederhosen!
Looking at the large bent through the eyes of a beer glass!
Who says men are the only ones who can wear lederhosen??
Tambourines, fake glasses, roses---they all make for good fun paraphernalia at Oktoberfest! Ha
The busy train stations leading to the grounds of the Wies'n
The setting sun of another successful Oktoberfest
