In the morning we wandered down towards the Royal Palace and enjoyed a nice breakfast at an upstairs cafe. Afterwards Sandra headed over to check out the Palace and I headed back to the guest house for to take it easy. Feeling pretty travelled out at the moment and with the flight to Bangkok later I was saving my strength.
After Sandra returned we had a late check out around 1pm and then headed to the airport. We were there in plenty of time and our flight back to Bangkok went smoothly.
Back in Bangkok we caught the airport bus shuttle and met a young english guy, Jim, who coincidentally was also staying at the Lub D guest house where we were headed. It was his first time to Bangkok so we offered him to join us for dinner and a walk down to Pat Pong night market. It was Friday night and the street was pumping with people. After a few beers and a chance to take in the sights and sounds we headed back exhausted and ready for bed.

We'd stayed here last time and decided to come back. One of the best hostels we've stayed at (but not the cheapest!).

Last fully day in Bangkok today. In the monring Sandra sent some things back to Germnay including our South East Asia Lonely Planet and I also sent some cd's to my younger brother, and a couple of shirts to my older brother.
In the afternoon we headed to Wat Po to check out the 50 metre long reclining Budha which we had missed last time. Sandra seemed pretty impressed, but by now I am getting pretty much templeed out!

Today we started getting all our final bits and pieces ready for the next leg of our journey: Southern Africa. We picked up mosquito spray, anti-malarials. some cheap binoculars, a spare camera battery for Sandra and last but not least some sleeping bags from the big Siam Paragon deparatement store at Siam Square.
We caught a taxi to the ariport in the late afternoon and made it through immigration without too much hassle and finally boarded our flight. We are flying Jet Airways (an Indian ariline) via Mubai, India to Johannesburg, South Africa and then via South African Airlines to Maputo in Mozambique.
Everything went pretty smoothly apart from the international transfer at Mumbai which was a bit of a debarcle but no real harm done.
