Awoke early at Spitzkoppe to light rain but no flooding of the camp site luckily. Breakfast was at 7am then back on the road. Along the way we stopped off to visit the seal colony at Cape Cross. So many seals, so disgusting the smell. Ariving in at Swakapmond in the afternoon we stopped in quickly at Far Out travel agency for the low down on adventure activities before heading to the Swakamund Municipal Rest Camp and Lodges. For the next three nights we are staying here and this time in two basic A-frame lodges which is a welcome reprieve from the tents. Sandra and I are sharing with Steve, Rene, Konsti and Shannon. Sandra, Shannon and I had massive burgers from Berryl's takeaway and ate them down by the pier. In the evening Sandra and Shannon had a girls night in with a cask of wine while I joined the rest of the group for dinner at an Italian restauarnt which was great. I had the orix and springbok game grill - interesting to try and quite tasty. Most the the group headed from dinner to the bar at Far Out, but I headed back to join and Sandra and Shannon for a wihle before bed.

Up earlyish for our 9.30am pickup for sandboarding today. It was a short drive and a walk before suiting up with snowboarding gear and climbing the dunes. It was fun and suprisingly different from snowboarding and the sand is bloody hard when you crash at speed! After four or five runs of sandboarding we also tried the lie down version which was amazing. I clocked a top speed of about 69km/hr flying headlong down the sand dunes hanging onto a piece of plywood for dear life. Eventually we made our way back down to the cars and enjoyed a light lunch and a couple of beers before driving back to Swakopmund. After a much needed shower to get some of the sand off we headed to the internet cafe. In the evening we joined Rechelle, Blair, Steve, Shannon, Konsti and Rene for dinner at the German Brauhaus. I had orix fillets with garlic butter which was amazing - so much better than last nights at the Italian place. After dinner we stopped in at the Far Out bar for a few drinks and pool then headed home about midnight.

Today we enjoyed a fairly lazy rest day while others went off for quad biking and harbour cruises. We enjoyed a late start before tackling our laundry which was much overdue. Later we headed to Far Out to take advantage of their free wi-fi and managed to update our money spreadsheet, banking and finally fixed up my music collection which involved deleting all this junk I was totally sick of listening to. In the evening we had a beer at the laundramat bar which we'd been promised would have live music but no joy so we moved next door to the Desert Tavern for dinner with Shannon, Steve, Rene and Konsti. After that Sandra and I called it an early night while Rene and Konsti headed for the Far Out bar yet again. I am really feeling worn out the last few days since my big night at Okakeujo so hoping a good nights sleep will put me right again.
