Today we left Felix Unite behind as well as our driver, Dan, who has safely delivered us all the way from Victoria Falls to here. We change vehicles today with a new driver, Billy, who will take us over the border into South Africa and all the way to Cape Town the following day. Our camp tonight is known as Highlanders and is situated in the little known Trawal Valley wine country. The place is run by an interesting former tour leader, Sparky. As our tents and mattresses were left behind with Dan this morning we have to use Sparky's tents and mattresses which can only be described as totally rooted. It was an extra disappointment seeing as we had wrongly guessed that since we'd left the tents behind we might be sleeping in lodges tonight, our last night of the Intrepid trip. Sandra is not feeling well, she is coming down with a cold and ear infection which is no fund for either of us. Hopefully she will come good soon.
After kicking the footy around for a while and settling in, we head up to Sparky's bar in the afternoon for some wine tasting which is great fun and soon helps us forget that the tents are so crappy. Wine tasting is quickly followed by dinner, more wine and more beer and eventually shots. Then more shots. Then a few rums. Then we set about getting ourselves into the record books of Spaky's bar and without going into the details I'm happy to say that we succeeded and that I'm confident our title will stand for some time.
