Flew in from Toronto
Sep 05, 2010
The flight was a little rough. It had to be the smallest plane I have ever seen and it didn't help that the woman next to me was a worse flyer than me. 2 hours later I landed and now off to go check in to my hotel

Nice little place located right downtown. The whole street is blocked off for the summer and there's a band playing at the end of the block. I got a spot out on the patio and I ordered a Rickards which hit the spot and decided to try the scallop and shrimp black pepper fettuccine.
I got to admit that it didn't smell the best but it tasted dam good.

Nigwek street festival
Sep 06, 2010
I caught this street festival near the end of my night. They had the whole street blocked off. There was lots of bands playing and tables set up selling home grown veggies and crafts. The whole festival is about farming awareness. One of the bands was called 2 hour traffic and they were the hit of the festival. They kind of sounded like weezer did on there first album. After the show ended I met Todd (the only guy who can get away with a dress suit and sandles) who runs the festival and introduced me to 2 hour traffic. This was the second year of the festival but from the amount of people that were out for it I think nigwek will be around for years to come.

I had a few hours to kill after dinner so i went and watched machete. What a great flick. Lots of gun play and beautiful women. Lohan made an appearance which actually wasn't that bad. Plus I got to see a preview for hobo with a shotgun. Looks freakin awesome. Lindsay

My friend Kim recommended this place. We went down to check it out. It's your standard breakfast place nothing special but I did get to meet a few travelers and we exchanged info.

Stopped at this little pub on my walking tour of the town. Probably the best patio view in town. Had a few pints and the waitress was pretty cool. She sat down at my table for awhile telling me about all the good spots to go and check out. After a few beers I was starting to get a bit hungry and Katie my waitress recommend the sweet potato fries which were probably the best fries I ever had. They came with cheddar dipping sauce which was just perfect. Good call Katie.

Well it was a bumpy start to the vacation with Earl blowing through. Flight was delayed a day but I'm back on course.
Getting to the airport was no problem. Not a lot of people heading to the airport on a Sunday. Flight was delayed due to a fuel spill but it gave me a chance to shoot the breeze with a few other people that were heading out in the same direction.
Once i got into town things picked up. I had a great first day exploring the city and got to met a whole whack of people too. I got to go backstage and meet 2 hour traffic. There was pretty cool band and invited me to the wave where they played another a show and we spent the rest of the night getting to know the bars in town. I was a little wobbly near the end of the night but I met this nice waitress named Kim and she made sure I got back to the hotel.

The Last Resort

Bought tickets for the local theatre not expecting much. Sat down at my table and ordered a drink. Right before the lights went off I saw maybe 40 people sitting in the crowd and I thought man this is going to blow. Wow was I wrong. This turned out to be one of the best shows I have ever scene. The cast was broken down to half new to the theatre and the other half seasoned vets.
The whole play revolved around the same set which you think would get kind of old but the cast made it work. Without giving away the plot there was everything in this story love, murder & comedy. The lead character played by Mairi Babb was absolutely beautiful and I couldn't keep my eyes off her. I would recommend this show to everyone.

It's always so hard to get into one of these places back home so I thought I would try my luck here. There was no line up which surprised me and I got seated right away. I ordered I cinnamon bun with eggs and fruit. The food was great. I was barley able to get half of it down. The service of the waitress was another story. I don't expect much from a breakfast place but the one thing I do expect is my coffee cup to never go empty. I sat here with a empty mug for atleast 10 minutes which got me kind of aggravated. Would I come back to this place again? The answer is no!

Walking around you get the feel of a small town until hit the down town market. Once there all kinda of people come out of the wood work. The wind always keeps u cool but the closer you get to the lake the more you should think about bringing a jacket.

My room is located in a second building just off of the hotel. There was a strong musky smell as soon as I entered the building. Once I got to my room the smell went away.
The room was small but I don't need much space. It was located close to everything so the was no need to bus or cab it.
My last night there was terrible. Probably because it was the first early and somewhat soberish night I had. I could hear cars driving around the street and the ice maker located just outside my door would not quit. Next time I come back I won't be staying here.

Well I'm just hours away from leaving this great place. I had such a great time I wish I could stay longer. The people here are so friendly and the women ate beautiful. I did a lot in my time here. I got to party with a band, saw a very funny low budget theatre production which I recommend to anybody looking for a good laugh. Even after the show I had fun when all the actors came out after and had drink with those of us in the audience. I even got have a drink with Mairi who i couldn't stop staring at.
