Description

After finishing out ten years to the day at my corporate job, I decided it was time to get busy living. My goal: a year of travel. A former co-worker of mine will join me in this three-four month segment traveling overland from Boulder, CO to Ushuaia, Argentina

Thats awesome

Sounds like we're heading West in order to go South!

This trip looks amazing. Sweet intro post & love the time lapse. I've "installed" that exact same stuff myself!

Watch your back

by Mike

So far this trip reminds me of an Adam Sandler quote..."Once again, things that should have been brought to my attention yesterday!!" Get some tools.

by Joe

Finely we are headed south..............i hope. with new German engineering bolted to the back end.......LOL. I'm really hoping for an authentic Mexican borrito.......7/11 sucks. keep it between the lines and good luck joe.

by Mom Connie

Love the VAN !!

Have fun and good luck... Bring me back a burrito. Hope you picked up a good video camera. You should be filming a documentary of your travels

You had me at "Go Packers!"

Sleep tight your first night in Mexico boyz!

If you have any questions for camp spots! Christina and myself currently doing the exact same thing. Our blog is www.travelpod.com search: cmedancing

You are covering a lot of ground each day. When do you plan to hit Guatemala?

TEQUILA!!!! I love the two Raven pics, the Agave Pines & the Margarita pics! I've taught you well Danielson~

Don't eat the taco's, they will give you the shits! Don't drink the water, that will also give you the runs. Drink Tequila without the worm! Good trucking! Let me know how you come out with the taco's!

Biscuits & Gravy and Margarita...I think I'm gonna be sick! I like reading your blog! Grandma

Cool Pictures !! Sounds like your having a good time....

El Salvador? Or Honduras next?

by Jessika

Hi guys, The El Salvador accommodations most of been as Panamanians’ call it "A push button" only for short special occasions. You figured right. By the way, love the pictures!

Monday Night Football....Go VIKING'S!!!! Go #4!!! Grandma~

Sorry Erik but I'm sure you heard the bad news PACKERS LOST !!!

Sounds like some folks are having trouble viewing the pictures. It seems to be a bug with the Everlater site, and I have reported it to the development team. In the meantime, if you just can't get them to work, you can try installing FireFox or Chrome and it should work.

Dude, just saw your trip on Molly's FB...what a great idea, fricken love it!! I will live vicariously through you! safe travels

by Peg

Hey Erik. Looks like you're having fun

by John

The only thing missing from your gear is a mountain bike!! It would've been hard for me to make a trip like that without one. Have fun bud.

Erik...so sorry about the photo issues. We're working on it right now. If anyone can give any specifics on what browsers they're having problems with - we'd really appreciate it!

Erik (and his loyal followers) - I'm 95% sure that the photo viewing issue in Internet Explorer is fixed. Sorry for the issues - you may now return to your normal routine of following his amazing trip!

Erik! It sounds and looks like you are living your dream! Safe and happy travels to you! U better make it back for my wedding!

So jealous you are in Cartagena. Nate and I almost started a hostel there, when you get back I'll tell you the story. If you have time, go to Parque Tayrona, its about 3 hours East up the coast. You hike in and sleep in hammocks on insane beaches. Not sure how much time you have though!

Erik, been reading of your adventures! Waaay cool! Are you going to be passing through Lima? Let me know, maybe I could meet up with you guys for a drink or something. bradleyjoyce[at]me.com

by Daniela Mc Lean (Westy From Hondran Border)

Oh Eric, I am soooo sorry. We were robbed in Mexico, so I know how you feel, but at least they didn't wreck our van. Keep your spirits up, it could happen anywhere, even back home!! Take care

Hey Bradley, sorry, but we ended up just cruising through Lima and cranking out miles on the Pan American. Currently catching our breath in Cuzco!

you headed to Bolivia? Or Chile next?

Can you guys bring back an Alpaca for me? They look awesome. I will, however settle for a sweater with an alpaca on it.

Since you passed me and Christina I thought I would ask what are your plans for the vehicle when you finish the trip. Are you selling!

Hey Devin, Yeah, sorry we missed you. We have been blazing pretty quickly since we need to be in Buenos Aires by xmas. We also weren't exactly sure where you guys were based on the blog. After xmas we plan on heading into Patagonia for a while for a bunch of fishing, and then we'll return to Buenos Aires and ship the van back. We're currently looking for someone to share a container with...

by Christian Valencia

Congratulations my amigos, nice pictures of Perú...

Tomorrow we head for Bolivia!

Missed you at Thanksgiving dinner but we were glad we got to talk to you. Your pictures are fabulous!

So did you stop at the winery? You were in Chile right??

Nope, didn't make it to P.K.N.T winery. We drove through the valley that I presume it's located in, but no address is given on their website, and they didn't return my email... Might have to switch to an Argentinian wine!

Anybody have travel tips for Greece? I'm going the last two weeks in May and would like recommendations for internal tours (Meteoros/Delphi and to the islands), and hotels/restaurants in Athens.

by Marie Northup

Hi Erik! I just talked to your mom the other evening and she told me about this amazing journey that you have embarked on. How exciting! Your pictures are absolutely amazing! Stay safe and have fun!

by Lee

Hey Brother, Just having a look to see how you guys are doing. Heard about the brake in and hope you guys recovered and carried on. I've got some catching up to do. Cheers, Lee

by John

From the looks of the map you guys could just take a quick ferry ride over to Antarctica. Cool.

by Confluence Rafting

Rafting in Mexico with Mexico Verde-Great camp resort they also do canyoneering. Costa Rica has incredible rafting go with Rios Tropicales. Rafting gives a very different perspective of the world. Up close and personal. In chili you must raft the Fue it is too important to miss

I have eaten at Mesita Grande Pizzerria! Awesome pizzas. Even tastier when you've been eating camping food for 5 days...

Hey babe, your pics are amazing! I can't wait to scower the house with all of your masterpieces!!! I'm so jealous you are behind the camera in such beautiful surroundings!!!

What kind of lens do you use on your camera?

Hey Natty! I carried a Tamron 70-300mm and a Tamron 10-24mm paired with my Canon T1i for our trip.

Erik, Are you alright? We miss your updates! <3 Team Everlater

Where are you all now. I am surprised that we didn't see each other along the way.. In our 88' westy. Just got home day before yesterday. Left Van in Uruguay, will return in Jan 2011 to do Brazil, Bolivia and Paraguay.

Wow! Eric you have some amazing pictures. What an opportunity to do something like that!!!

Hi Erik, I saw that you posted a link on Drive the Americas http://www.drivetheamericas.com/wiki/Darien_Gap saying that you didn't have a good experience with Barwill. We'd like to learn more about this so we can post more details on DTA, but the link you posted just comes back to your home page. Would you mind emailing us with more information or including the link to the description of your poor experiences? Thanks- Kristin
