We got up early today to get out of our campsite before we were noticed and headed south of SLO for the first time towards Pismo beach. The boys across the highway over at Camp San Luis were our alarm clock, chanting cadences as they pumped out some pre-dawn PT.
We pulled into Port San Luis just as the sun was peaking over the distant mountains and found a great little port rest area facility. It had showers, laundry and a breakfast place, all in one spot. Looks like we would have all of the day’s tasks done by 8 a.m.! After exploring the pier and watching the local seals bask in the morning sun for a while, we headed over to Fat Cat’s to grab a hearty breakfast. It would appear that we are slowly embracing this new ‘mancation’ to the fullest extent. What is the special of the day? Our favorite, biscuits and gravy! The only way we could see fitting to wash it down was with a Bloody Mary.
The weather was finally nice enough to give the beach a try, so we carved out a spot and just relaxed on the sand for a few hours, working on our tans (err sunburns...)
