We headed back to SLO early this morning with one goal in mind - showers. We haven't been on the road even a week and we're already starting to enjoy the simple things. Luckily there are a few pay showers in Morro Bay to transform us back into refined hippies. After that it was off to find somewhere to work for a while. While I prefer Starbuck's coffee more, Peet's gives you two hours of internet per purchase, so we headed there. Then it was on to Marti's to catch football, including the Bears/Packers game!

Ruddell's Smokehouse

Nate at GoWesty told us about this little taco shop up north in Cayucos. We had some time so we made a special trip up there for lunch, but it turned out it was well worth the 5 minute drive from Morrow Bay. These were the best fish tacos that I've had. Fish tacos always seem bland and uninteresting to me, but not these puppies! I tried the ahi and salmon, both of which were incredible. They're secret sauce is chunks of apples added to the taco, which works wonderfully with the smokey flavors. Worth a look!

Check out the Tue. night oyster specials in the bar. $0.65 gets your choice of on the half-shell, fried, or an interesting shooter with a clam in bloody mary mix! Good stuff! This is north of SLO in Morrow Bay on Ebarcadero.

Quiet little campground just off the beach. Great sand dunes to play around in.
