SLO Farmers Market
Sep 10, 2009
Not really a restaurant, but one of the biggest farmers market's I've seen, with a lot of street food including some great BBQ! Sounds like they shut down Higuera St. every Thursday night during the summer. Great people watching and lot's of fresh produce.

La Otra Mujer is now officially in the shop for a complete makeover. Being stuck on the west coast for five days doesn't suck. Luckily, the good folks at GoWesty have hooked us up with a loaner van for the weekend while we wait for our new engine to get buttoned up and fully installed. We'll probably be ready to start rolling south by next Wednesday. In the meantime, we'll spend the weekend exploring the coast along Hwy 1. First up, the Big Sur area.
We've met quite a few folks in the GoWesty operation, and so far everyone has been great. They've definitely proven to live up to their slogan - 'Good people. Good parts. Good times.' A tip from Chris last night netted awesome BBQ and great people watching at one of the largest farmers market's I've seen. They shut down about 4 blocks in SLO (San Luis Obispo) and pack it with some of the tastiest looking fruits and vegetables I've seen. Much better than the stuff we're used to in CO. We stocked up on fresh fruit, and will at least be eating healthy for the next few days.
This morning we started by exploring the tidal pools around Montana de Oro state park. After walking up and down the beach for a while and contemplating how surfers can enjoy climbing into the cold water in the morning, we headed north to Morro Bay to seek out our first shower.
