Taberna Jovenes Flamencos

We decided on Taberna Jovenes Flamencos where tapas starts from €2. We opted for a salad each which were €5, with quite a varied menu. Very tasty. This place offers friendly, swift service as well.

Hotel La Fonda

We decided to eat at the hotel as the menu offered different cuisine. Unfortunately Shane's first two choices weren't available, so he opted for the brochetta de solomillo €14 which turned out to be a monster and the best solomillo he'd tasted. I ordered a salmon and avocado salad €10 which was just ok, nothing special!

First overnight stop today, just a couple of hours from home! Arrived here at about 2pm to be greeted by an extremely helpful Emilo who gave us directions to free car parking rather than paying 15 euros! The hotel dates back from 1834 and has the most amazing high ceilings. The room is very traditional, but perfectly suited to this old building. Emilio then showed us a little lounge area across the hallway where we could help ourselves to tea and coffee.

Having moved the car to free parking, we then headed in search of a light lunch of which there was plenty of choice.

During a very leisurely stroll around the historic part we stopped for a very refreshing Estrella beer at Meson Don Fernando situated in one of many picturesque cobbled back streets. Now back for a siesta until the evening jaunt :-)
