While Katie and Jerry were house selling and at Camano, we were shared by David and Lynn and Todd and Ina. Kids are GREAT, as are the adults. Great fun to be with each other. As you can imagine, food played an important role. See suggested restaurants. We saw Zola play soccer, played a little b-ball with Elise, chatted up Oliver, and wandered the Ballard farmers market. Concentrated and high quality family time...
In the midst of this, I did a 24 hour trip to San Francisco to do a workshop...stayed with Janet and Neil, did my work, and then had an afternoon with Janet, Dan, and Lina. Lina cooked us all lunch and then we wandered the Mission in warm, spring weather. I returned to Seattle that night and we returned to Boulder the next day after brunch with Ina's parents in West Seattle (at the bakery that won the "Coupe de Monde" bread baking competition in Paris in 2005!)

A very small noodle shop just off the Light Rail at the International District stop. The tonkatsu (pork) broth is incredible, as was the spicy green onion. Noodles and meat were excellent. I think the place fits 10 people!

A food and wine boutique, we had excellent baguette sandwiches and salads. They do wine tastings which I bet are great. On Greenwood Ave.

On Ballard Avenue, very much like a "real" French bistro. The duck confit hash is to die for. My lamb burger was tender and tasty with wonderful fries. Jaye had crepes with mushrooms that were phenomenal. They serve a lemony French 75 that takes the edge off the afternoon!

Downtown in Seattle on Virginia St., the pizzas were amazingly light. Tender crusts with just the right amount of toppings. We had an interesting bottle of red...Lagrein from northern Italy. This is a Tom Douglas restaurant...seems like he has quite the empire. Anyway, excellent!

In West Seattle, this place won the "Coupe de Monde" bread baking competition in Paris in 2005. Great pizza, wonderful sandwiches and baked goods to die for. The pecan brioche was light and just sweet enough. The baguette chewy and good.
