Our morning started off pretty leisurely (read: Kasey takes a while to get ready so Alli and I caught up and waited and waited and waited...) but once we left the house WOW did we do a lot. Alli gave us the grand tour of Philly (part 2, because we'd already seen half of the tourist-y things last summer). Starting at the Philadelphia Museum of Art we took a pretty creative video depicting me "running on Dunkin Donuts" to the Rocky theme song up a zillion steps. Check it out below! Then we headed over to the Skhoogyl (spelled wrong, but equally weird) river where we checked out the Water Works center and passed by (what I think is) the World's Largest Plug (statue). We had a delicious AND nutritious lunch at Whole Foods because we're trying not to just eat roadtrip crap all the time and had walked about a million miles and it was only lunch time. Next up we went to THE SCARIEST THING KASEY CAN THINK OF, also known as Eastern State Penitentiary. It was definitely one of the more interesting things we've done and definitely creepy. We walked and walked and walked some more (and got a little sunburnt) and followed our fearless tourguide, Miss Alli Bizon, through the streets of Philly. She brought us to Davio's for "Sips" and then we were off to a Phillies v Red Sox game at Citizens Bank Park! Kasey freaked out about baseball stuff and I almost fell asleep in the bleachers...
Overall an awesome day, mostly because none of it was spent in the car!!

To wake up this morning and NOT have to get back in the car and drive was a really amazing feeling. Plus we got to spend another whole day with Alli touring the great city of Philadelphia. We did the most walking, and I have the sunburned shoulders to prove it, but they don’t really hurt THAT bad and it was a really fun day regardless. Alli took us to the Art Museum where Laura did the Rocky run up the stairs with a Dunkin’ Donuts cup (obviously) and we recorded one of my favorite road trip videos to date. When a huge group of school kids tried to jump the line in front of us at the Rocky statue, Alli used her best teacher voice to get those children in check and I was very impressed. Thanks Miss Alli! Then Laura obviously had to pee so we sought out a bathroom and found Water Works, where we learned the most about waste water (RIVETING). We also stumbled upon what may or may not be the world’s largest plug, which excited Laura in a pretty serious way. Finding World’s Largest Things on accident is always pretty exciting. As we were leaving Water Works, I picked through some of the tourism brochures and found JAIL… aka Eastern State Penitentiary (where Al Capone was!) and we obviously had to go. Scary, abandoned, historical, and available during less-creepy daylight hours. Perfect. Jail was SO COOL and SO SCARY at the same time… we took the most pictures and saw Al Capone’s jail cell (which looks nicer than my freshman year dorm room to be honest with you). Definitely one of the coolest things we’ve done on our trips. Soon after, we had a quick bite to eat at Davio's for Sips, which is like a city-wide happy hour thing that I WISH Boston did. Stupid blue laws. ANYWAY, to top off a lovely day, the three of us (Dan had to study, poor Dan!) went to the Phillies/Red Sox game at Citizens Bank Park. It was a lot of fun! CBP is really nice, and the big light-up Liberty Bell thing they do is cool (even though it only lights up when the Phillies hit homers or win the game... both of which happened, but hey... Interleague play. Whatever). I got a little mouthy with a Phillies fan who called me a loser, but he sucked and left the game early which I do NOT support even a little bit, AND he was far too old to be picking on me I was minding my own business!! Anyway. I'm over it. GO RED SOX!!!
