We started the day very early. Our flight to Mactan was at 4 o'clock in the morning, and we have to be at the airport at least two hours before the flight. Well getting to the airport was not a problem, since its a 30 minutes taxi ride from where we live. So even though we only had a few hours of sleep, we did afford to leave home a little bit later than we scheduled, and just waited for roughly about an hour before our boarding time.
The travel from Manila to Mactan, Cebu only took one hour. We landed at 5 o'clock and was on our way to our hotel 30 minutes later. The cab driver knew very well where our hotel was and the road is still empty during that time, so it only took us around 20 to 30 minutes to reach our hotel.
Upon reservation, I already knew that there are no guarantees that we are able to check in so early in the morning, so I just hoped that the room we booked was empty and ready for us. However that was not what happened. After we have arrived at the hotel, we were informed that the room is still not available and will be available at 2 o'clock in the afternoon, which was the check in time. Left with no choice, we just squatted at the hotel lobby and grab some Zs on the couch that was very much welcoming to us who lacked sleep and just have flown a hundred miles to have a fun trip. After getting a nap, we decided to have our breakfast at the nearest fastfood (luckily there is one), and decided to just do few of our scheduled destinations.
*(The photos below were the things that happened and the things we did and places we went while waiting for our check in time. Click on the picture to view and read the story).
After our check in, we just went straight to sleep. And that's all we did the whole afternoon.
Apparently, the idea was not good. Because there has been a glitch in our hotel reservation. Upon reservation I already knew that there aren't any guarantee that we can check in right away base on the availability, so I just hoped that the room is unoccupied when we arrive, however that was not the case. We arrive at the hotel around 6 o'clock in the morning, and the room was occupied so we waited at the hotel lobby, resting our eyes at the couch.
And our last activity before calling it a day was Cebu's first and longest zip line. Its near Tops, so after we enjoyed the calm and the view of whole Cebu, an adrenaline rush was a very good idea for the next activity. Yes, that was me, it was my first time to zip and it was scary at first but it was fun. The line was 800 meters and the view is a beautiful terrain of lush mountain side. The ride cost us 250 pesos per person for a back and forth ride, but if you choose to do it in the sitting position it'll cost you 150 pesos. Definitely worth a try specially for a person like me who haven't zipped before.

It was scary at first, but the "adrenaline junkie" part of me says that it'll be fun....and it was! I guess I experienced how is it to fly! :D

In this trip, we basically got around Cebu by taking the cab. Cebuanos are kind, hospitable, and honest people, and its very rare for you to find advantageous cab drivers. Flag down rate for white cabs is 40 pesos, yellow cabs (which are the airport taxis) has 70 pesos flag down rate.
TIP: If you encounter drivers who sets cab fare, don't hopped on it and just go for others who uses meter.
