We set out this morning to see the Arizona Memorial, arriving a bit before noon. After looking for parking for quite some time, we finally made it there, only to find out that the next available boat to the Memorial was at 2:15. Because LVL had a 3:00 haircut scheduled in Kailua, we had no choice but to save it for another day.

Back to the Windward side over H-3, with more time to appreciate how stunning that drive is. The highway is cut through the Koolau mountains and gives amazing, unobstructed views all the way from Kailua to the Stadium. On our way back from Pearl Harbor, I saw the Stairway to Heaven trail, a 3,922 step hike to the top of one of the ridges. Too bad it’s now closed to the public.
