Hello. As you may know, Laura and I have decided to write/document our summer adventure. We do it in an effort to entertain ourselves while keeping detailed notes on what we hope will be a lasting memory. And, to the extent possible, to bring friends and family along.

The trip itself will take us from Washington, DC to Detroit, Chicago, and Indianapolis. We’ll spend time in Denver and Steamboat Springs, CO – where we will eventually get married (!) – and make our way to Seattle and Portland. From there down the California Coast and into wine country, with stops in San Francisco and Oakland on our way to LA. We’ll spend time in Hawaii and Las Vegas and (hopefully) the Grand Canyon. We revisit Austin, TX, a place near and dear, and take stops in Dallas, Arkansas, and Atlanta. And many more.

We have 11 weeks and (as you can see) lots of places to see.

As of right now, I will do most of the writing, while Laura will edit [Editor's note: I'll be making lots of these annoying editor's notes], post the pictures, write the captions, and add trip details. Any silly, sappy, crass, annoying, boring, or really, really hilarious language can be (dis)credited to me. We hope you comment liberally and make food/sightseeing/route recommendations often.

Though some of the dates and locations may change, this is generally when we think we'll be in each of these cities. Please let us know if you're free to hang out when we're near you. And we welcome any and all food/drink/camping/entertainment recommendations.
