Despite the car stalling, we managed to make it to Blythe, about 100 miles inland from the SS. We passed through Imperial Sand Dunes, and some other pretty cool scenery, a handful of small, nondescript towns (none of which had anything resembling an open restaurant) before settling down for a very late lunch at La Casita Dos. Authentic is the word. No cheddar cheese, no sour cream, no chain restaurant Tex-Mex. A bit dark, the rest of the patrons a tad depressing, but good food.
