Cannon Beach, Oregon

Two hours or so after leaving Portland, through windy, beautiful, tree-lined roads, we hit highway 101 and Cannon Beach. CB has been compared to Carmel, CA, and is the favored summer destination for many Portlanders, especially those with a bit of discretionary income. The beautiful beach, several huge rock outcroppings close to shore, and the cute stuff on the main drag make it easy to understand why people love it so much. We spent an hour or so walking on the beach, checking out the amazing scenery. Wish we got to see it in good weather. Cold, drizzly rain made for pretty crappy sightseeing.
