The flight from Maui was no more than 45 mins, 42 of which LVL slept through. She left me alone to suffer through the teenage kids yelling back and forth at each other, reliving through pictures the bible camp/competition they seemed to have just completed.** They were loud and rather annoying toward the end of what was already a very long day.
Upon landing in Honolulu, we split up: LVL to pick up the rent-a-car; me to walk from Baggage Claim C to Baggage Claim H to find our checked bag, which supposedly was put on a 2:30 pm flight from LA to Honolulu (wonder why we weren’t on that direct flight). The walk was approx 20 mins, and carrying our tech bag and my backpack, it wasn’t that much fun. Miraculously, the bag was just where they said it was supposed to be, among 50 or 60 others. Lucky, lucky.
Took a bit of a drive through town, around Lanikai, etc. before heading back to our B and B on Kuumele Street. About a mile from Kailua Beach, around the bend from Lanikai, and totally perfect for us. Cozy, cute, and convenient to everything.
** One girl had a trophy for her ability to recite more bible-related facts than anyone else. True story.
