SLO for lunch, and a bit of shopping. Big Sky Cafe, smack in the middle of the city’s downtown area, is noted for its breakfasts and its Asian influenced bistro fare. For me, a Bahn Mi and garden salad; for LVL, sea bass tacos. Good food; shitty/inattentive service, in case anyone cares. SLO is a really nice place, and somewhere I’m sure would be great to live. Beyond its physical beauty, it seems away from the influences of LA/Orange County, far enough south so that it’s not super cold, and right on the water. Too bad everyone else agrees; real estate (and everything else) is expensive, and jobs are scarce. Oh well.

While LVL did a bit of jeans shopping*, I took a quick walk up and down the city’s main drag. On my way back, I stumbled on a narrow alley with hundreds of thousands of pieces of gum stuck to walls on both sides. Gross, really gross; but great for a picture or two. Wonder who gets the idea to start something like that.

* [Ed. note: Normally, I would rather pour salt on a wound while watching a Glenn Beck marathon than intentionally shop for jeans – especially when eating my way across the US – but I did accidentally find some jeans while wandering aimlessly in a little boutique. Yay.]
