Tempe, Arizona

Pretty much too hot to do anything outside, so we decided on a drive to Tempe to check out the ASU campus. Pretty typical look and feel of college campus, especially one located in the desert. Earth tones, stucco, and a mostly upper-middle class, homogeneous scenery. Did I mention that it was hot? From Tempe to Phoenix, where some economic and ethnic diversity made for a bit more interesting drive-by viewing. We didn't see all that much of the city, but the downtown area wasn’t all that impressive. The train, which ran down Central Street, looked pretty cool.
