30 hour ferry

Another mode of transport!! The trip from Batam to Jakarta takes around 30 hours on a huge ferry. The conditions were basic bit too be honest it was not a tough journey. We all had a bed each in a massive open area, which must have housed over 200 people. Our beds were very compact but luxurious compared to some of the overnight buses we have had. We left an hour later than planned (4pm ish) and docked around 9pm the next night. We crossed the equator, had to guess that we did it around 10pm as no one had GPS!
If we would have had these conditions at the start of the trip I am sure we would all of moaned about it all, as it was the majority of us actually enjoyed the whole experience.
