About 40kms outside Agra there is a city called Fatehpur Sikri. Built in the 16th century, it was only occupied for 16 years. We stopped of for a visit on route to Agra, had a tour round. It was really interesting

Up at 430 this morning, ready to see the Taj Mahal at sunrise. We are staying about ten minutes away from the historic landmark so one short tuk tuk ride later and we are there. No crowds at all, most of the people there I knew as most of our group went this morning.
It was stunning, well worth the early start

After the early visit to the Taj Mahal, we made our way to the Fort. Really impressive.

After a day of not doing much at all, we went out to a park on the opposite side of the river from the Taj Mahal and watched the sunset. It was spectacular and although sunrise yesterday was amazing, the experience of watching the Taj Mahal from another setting was so much better.
