Another day in the lorry over. We bush camped in a field, handily situated across the road from a pub. A local man came over to warn us about something, and due to language issues we thought we had pitched up in an airfield!! It turned our there was gas stored close by we were ok to stay for the night thankfully.
We all ended up having a few drinks in the pub and were given a huge pot of goulash for a future meal by the lovely landlord.

22 years Air Traffic and 10 years Airfield Operations Alert III's are something most of us will never, ever encpriexee. However, if you do it is the most important thing most have never spent much time preparing for.Checklists! Don't have them? Get em update em and USE them. They will save your *ss and possibly others lives.Yep it is that important.Built in problem for III's is that AT rings em as Alert II's (which they are) so everyone is moving (which is the correct thing) but when it becomes a III everyone one -EVERYONE except Crash/Fire/DPS and OPS, must stop. No more ins/outs or taxi's. Airport closed time. Until Incident commander (whoever that is for your airport) opens whatever parts of the Airport can safely be used no, zero movement. Way too much going on to play normal airport games.
