We arrived early in the morning after a night bus, it was about a 12 hour journey and I was starting to realise how sunburnt my back actually was after the snorkelling in Nha Trang a few days before. The first day I did very little apart from sleep, read, watch movies and apply aftersun every hour.
I went out sightseeing the next day, the river was beautiful, so many pretty boats. Hoi An is very different from the other Vietnamese places we have stopped at. It is a small town (old and new), with a beach about 4kms out of town.
Day 3 was beach :D, unfortunately the sun didn't want to shine so although it was still hot it wasn't the best day for lounging on a beach. Probably a good thing as my back was still pink, and was kept covered up while I swam.
On the way back from the beach I went with Rachel to visit her friend Qua. She lived close to the beach with her husband, two children, brother, parents and gran. They were all so welcoming and had prepared a huge meal for us. There was loads of seafood and fish, I felt rude not eating it but there was no way I could do it. What a fantastic family
