The 16th of September is Malaysian day, on the 15th at the Petronas towers there was an outdoor concert and fireworks to celebrate the start of the day. It was raining and there wasn't much of an atmosphere so I am sad to say I went down and took a look and after taking a few pictures I left. Some others in the group stayed until the end and the fireworks were spectacular.

Our hostel was directly behind the largest shopping mall in Malaysia, Berjaya Times Square, and it was huge!! It has a theme park inside it complete with rollercoaster, and 10 floors filled with restaurants and shops. The good thing about having to carry your own kit on your travels is that you can't buy stuff, so you save money. I had to buy a pair of trainers as mine no longer like my feet. After nearly 6 months in flip flops my feet seem to have changed shape.

My tent poles broke so I sent it back from Iran (I did get a full refund) and as we haven't done much camping since then I borrowed the truck's spare tent. We have two weeks bush camping in Oz so I have been on the look out for a new home. I was expecting to have to buy one quickly in Darwin, but I found one for £20 in a camping store here. Its very light and compact, the only drawback is that it is only shower proof. Hopefully Oz won't be hit by heavy rain while I
