we had an eventful day today. We left McLeod Ganj and traveled the scenic route today as driving in the mountains is beautiful and the views are spectacular. Only problem is that is wasn't very well sign posted and we did the scenic, scenic route. the road was single track and very close to mountain edge. The truck gave up after about 4 hours (and less than 120kms) and a fix/bodge was required! The front axle wasn't looking too clever. We were stuck on a remote road and luckily a helpful guy stopped and offered to go get his mechanic mate from the nearest town. 40 rupees (about 50p) and three hours later we had the bolts made that we needed and we were back on the road.

We found a great bush camp for the night, off the road and back in our tents everything seemed good until an impressive storm in the night. it went on for hours and we had to pack up in the wet. we aren't camping for over a week now and we won't have a chance to dry our tents for at least 4 days, ugh, i feel a mouldy tent coming on!
