Pokhara, Nepal

We had a night out to celebrate Rachel's birthday. It was a few days earlier than the actual event but as we will be split up in the big day we surprised her and had a fab night in Pokhara.

We went for a late breakfast/early lunch today and Mike's restaurant which is next to Lake Phewa in Pokhara. On the opposite side of the lake at the top of the hill is the Peace Pagoda so we decided as the weather was good and the clouds weren't low it was a good day to climb up there. Our initial plan of getting a boat across was quickly changed after we heard that there were loads of leaches and the other side and on the path we would need to take. The other option was two very easy bus rides and then a walk to the top which we thought would be 15 mins. The walk ended up being over an hour, and it was pretty hard. We ignored the steps route thankfully and went for the steady climb. As we got close to the top we bumped into Brian (from our group) who had taken a different route. We managed to get to the top, see some stunning views and get back down before the monsson rains started.

we had an amazing sunset tonight, luckily Orla noticed it and came and got us out of the room, we viewed it from the hotel roof

had a lovely breakfast at MIke's and then 6 of us took a large pedalo over to a small island on the other side of the lake. There was a small temple on the island a lot of birds!
