I sat in the cab today and it was amazing. Set off around 9am from Quetta, drove out of the city, through mountains, then desert, through small towns and finished up in Sukkur. So much variety in landscape, road quality, vehicles and people.
I am loving Pakistan
how most of the locals seem to travel. when they saw us at first they did a double take and once we waved at them they all smiled and waved back :D
how to transport people as well as livestock
the quality of escorts varied immensely. We had the fab '0070' guys, the 'No Fear' guys, the old guy sitting in the back of the pick up, two young guys on a motor bike and various others in between.
so glad our truck has better facilities than Pakistani transport
check out the lorries! this was in the mountains and as they had loads so heavy they could only mange about 10-15mph. plenty of broken down lorries at the side of the road too
our escorts taking a well deserved beak
camels!!!!!
we saw hundreds of miles of railway in Pakistan and only one train in the week we were there
they are meant to drive on the left but sometimes they seem to forget!

I should mention that the hula dancer is a dashboard ornament, not a dancer in the road!
