we stayed at hostels along the way, much better than expected.
started at Naya Pul, stayed at the following places
Gandruck
Tadapani
Ghorepani
Poonhill sumit (yay!)
Trekhedhunga
then back to Naya Pul
our trek took us to the top of Poonhill, which is part of the Annapurna Range. It was only people from my overland trip on my trek so it was really good as we knew we all got on well. What we hadn't done was any research and didn't realise that most of the track s actually man made steps to the top. Some days it was like being on the stairmaster for 4 hours!! But as much as we grumbled from time to time about the ascend the descent was 100 times worse. We all survived with no injuries other than leach bites. I even had a leach on my head! On the last day we were about an hour from our pick up point, and there was a rock fall across our path. We ended up clambering across the rocks with a 40 foot drop into the river if we got our footing wrong. The other option was a two hour detour around and none of us were up for that.
The views at the top were disappointing but we were trekking right in the middle of monsoon season so not a big surprise really.Really glad I did the trek but not sure if I will be in a hurry to do another one.
Oh, and our guide, Ram, was fantastic :)

A dog started to follow us on the first day and stayed with us in the hostel so we named him Trekker. Second night he was still with us, we all had high hoped he would be with us for the whole trek. How wrong were we?? He took one look at an affluent American on the thrid day and took of after him instead. We were then adopted by another dog, Trekker the Loyal, who did come to the summit with us but was such a trouble maker we were glad to see her leave. She flirted with the dogs and then wanted to fight them!!!
