we left Hue on the 22nd at 930 by bus for Laos, were taken to a bus station out of town, transferred onto a cramped sleeper bus and then drove back through Hue, 1.5 hours after we left! The sleeper bus was different from previous journeys, this one had two rows of double bunks, top and bottom, and once the bunks were filled up mattresses were laid out in the aisle. Arrived at the border around 3pm and had the worst border crossing of the trip so far. It only took two hours but was really painful. Dee has had a small rip out of one of her passport pages for years but Vietnam didn't want to process her out of the country. After an hour that I am sure Dee doesn't want to repeat they let her through. Back onto the bus, and we arrived at Vientiane at 430 am, transferred to another bus station and on a minibus to Vang Vieng, arrived in the hotel at 930am

Had a fantastic day out on the river today. Everyone came out to take part in tubing, an activity which consists of sitting in an large inner tube and float down a (fast flowing) river. We had a few stops on the way, we had to navigate our way into bars along the way that had rope swings, mud volleyball and lots of local cocktails.
Lots of fun and laughter, what a great way to celebrate Dee's birthday :D

Wow... all the food we have missed over the last few months we found in one place!! Baked beans, mashed potatoes, bacon, beef and chicken baguettes, sausages and gravy.
Amazing, and now we are back to noodles and rice

This is a great post that I really eoynjed reading. Tubing sounds like so much fun. You and John must of had the time of your lives. I love the photo of you two. You both look so relaxed and happy.
Journey to Luang Prabang

We had a couple of mini buses to take us to our next destination Luang Prabang. WE are in the rainy season just now so there has been alot of rain recently that has caused some landslides, because of this our journey time was estimated at between 5 and 10 hours. We did get delayed by a landslide but thankfully it only delayed our journey by around an hour and a half.

We left the truck in Nepal, so since Thailand we have been using public transport. I have listed where we have been do not sure why you are confused.
