Punta Tomba Tour

Jan 02, 2009

For roughly $50 each, we were driven around all day in a little van (Kip and I were the only ones on the tour). In Rawson, I paid the extra $30 to head out into the ocean to see the rare Commerson Dolphins, which only live in two places in the entire world. They are some of the worlds smallest dolphins, and black and white like killer whales! We found a whole group of them out in the ocean, and they followed our boat around, racing us and jumping in and out of the water along the bow. SO cool.

After that, we went to see the penguins at Punta Tombo. Pretty cool to see penguins in the wild, but it wasn't a 2 hour experience...basically 10 minutes worth of interested, repeated for 2 hours. It wasn't quite like the nature channel - more like a zombie movie where the zombies just stood around.
