Kimberly here with Just a few notes to add to Shaunti's trip - read her stories first!. The apartment in Rome was truly great. Yay Homeaway. The Florence apartment was too hot. The guy emailed me later to apologize for the internet but claimed the air conditioning was working. No way.
The hostel in Paris was 2 stars which as a general rule is against my nature, but I will admit that it was VERY clean which made me feel much better.
I had not wanted to go to Pisa, but changed my mind after the visit. Very worth it easy to get to. Shaunti is understating the tackiness of the souvineer stalls. THE. TACKIEST. EVER.
I have video of Kinsey eating snails in Paris - with audio. It's a highlight! As a former Disney employee I too was apalled that a child could cry in front of their main hotel for 20 minutes. However, Disney's values are still ingrained in me so no way were we not doing SOMETHING. Shaunti needs to add an update about her experience with the pigeons while we dined at Walts.

Shaunti, we are still blown away by your incredible journey. But having Kimberly and especially Kinsey on part of your Italy leg (that would be Lauren's favorite), has got to be the most exciting experience to share with her your love , the beauty and history of travel.
We have not forgotten you, but this summer we have been visiting colleges, Lauren has been volunteering for Habitat for Humanity in San Antonio, and visiting my mom, who is getting needy as she gets older. She is 83, but still spunky. It is never a hardship to visit her in Hawaii! It is always beautiful, but not has wonderful as all your locations.
When you get back, life will never be the same for you, because you will be so knowledgeable and have a lifetime of memories.
With the business of summer,& everyday life, we will need to make time to keep updated. I love the stories and hope that they will used and kept in print for your book, movies and slide shows. It's the stories that enriched your photos.
