Just so we wouldn't completely exhaust Kinsey (or us) Kimberly had plan a couple of days at a villa in the little town of Montagnana. We took the train from Rome to Florence and then a bus from Florence to Montagnana. It was a beautiful, quite place with some of the most amazing views. The view from the pool overlooked farms and vineyards. The only noise was from the sparrows flying overhead, taking an occasional dip in the pool. As to not disturb anyone we seemed to whisper when when we spoke.
We were only there for 3 days with the first and last being travel days, so we had one day full with plans of doing nothing but sitting/reading/ sleeping/eating by the pool. We were pretty succesful with this plan. The town is so small that when Kinsey and I dragged ourselves away from the pool to get some food we only found one place open and this was the local bar. So we bought chips and soda and headed back. Not a great lunch but dinner more than made up for it.
There are only 2 restaurants in town, as the villa owner said there is a "pizza place" and a "meat place". We had eaten at the pizza place the night before so we went to the meat place tonight. As we walked in there were a couple of men at a table and they were eating from a giant plate of meat that looked and smelled delicious. While Kinsey went with the pasta dish, Kimberly and I decided it would be a msitake not to get the meat and we were correct. It was some of the most tender, flavorful meat that I have ever eaten. Between the two of us we ate 1 1/2 kilos (around 3 lbs) of meat. If we weren't in a public setting I'm sure Kimberly and I would have wrestle over the chance to eat right from the bone, it was that good.
