Since I was on a different island I decided to see what type of snorkling this one had to offer.

The boating company was much different than the one I was with on Koh Tao. There were only about 8 of us on this tiny little wooden boat, which just happened to be named Snoop Dog. Our guide looked like the young boy in the tv version of Kung Fu. He went by the name Peter Pan, I learned his name was really just Pan.
The weather was of course warm, but a bit rainy so as far as where we would stop was dependent on the weather, for safety reasons.

Even paradise is not spared from the tragedies that occur in life. On the way out we went by a spot where earlier they had pulled out the body of a 4 year old local boy that had disappeared the day before.

We stopped in a couple of locations, but due to the rain the snorkling opportunities were limited. I did see a little sting ray at one of the stops ( I always think of Steve Irwin when I see one of these).

One of the stops we made was to a waterfall. The water here was quite cold. Pan guided us into the water and then said to follow him to the cave. The idea of going into a cave at a waterfall is both exciting and scary at the same time. When I think about a cave I can't help but think about some of the creatures that could be lurking in the darkness. Also I was concerned about the dimensions of this cave as I did not want to get stuck at any point. Since Pan was not concerned I felt more at ease and headed in. The cave was not really a cave to me, it was more like a very short tunnel. We had to go slow as we could not really see where to put our feet, even then it only took us about a 2 minutes to get to the other side. Once we were out Pan informed us that we passed by a very big spider but he didn't want anyone to freak out so he didn't say anything to us. Probably a wise move.

On the way back I learned how the boat got it's name as a joint was lit up and passed around to those that wanted to partake. I don't know why I always seem to be around this stuff.
